Having spent much of his career inside tier-one international newsrooms, Pentameter founder and principal James Doran brings a journalist’s perspective to public relations. How stories are framed, what reporters listen for, and where credibility is quietly earned or lost. This informs an approach to PR that prioritises substance over exposure and relevance over reach.
Our work typically involves clarifying what an organisation stands for, identifying the narratives worth advancing, and preparing leaders to engage with media confidently and accurately. This often includes developing core narratives, briefing materials and interview preparation that reflect how the business actually operates, rather than how it wishes to be seen.
Pentameter does not pursue publicity for its own sake. We help organisations decide when to speak, why to speak, and when restraint is the stronger choice, recognising that credibility with the media is cumulative, fragile and built over time.
